One year ago today CJ was still such a tiny little thing. You can see her personality starting to show in this picture. Very curious and that cute little evil smile.
Again, I can’t believe how much she’s grown over the last year. Man, time sure files!
Well, actually tomorrow, but you get the idea. This picture was taken at Jen’s parents’ house while we celebrated the 4th of July. Note the skinny arms, she’s gotten so BIG in the last year. She’s such a good girl, I can’t imagine life without my little Princess Pudding Pop!
Wanna see video of her in the pool and saying her first multi-syllabic word? Go to her blog!

Wow, it was a year ago today that I took this picture of my two girls. How time files! CJ’s taking swimming lessons, is finally starting to cruise around the furniture and is chatting up a storm! (Not that we understand 90% of what she’s saying, but still…)
It takes pictures like this to really realize how much time has passed and how far my little girl has gone. I’m going to make this a rather-frequent task: Look up old pics of CJ and reflect on them.
The backstory to this picture is that Jen, CJ and I went to Sycamore Grove in Livermore with our friends Tony and Paula Cao (who have a child of their own now, they weren’t even pregnant when we went for this walk!) and discovered that, just like her daddy, CJ has pollen allergies. Her eyes swelled up and she got rashes all over her because of it. We should go back there soon and get some “after” pictures to go with these “before” ones.
Happiness is a sleepy girl who likes to snuggle with her daddy.
At this very moment, 4:51 PM Pacific, 2005, Claire Julia Johnson was born and my life changed forever. There’s no way I can describe how much I love my little princess. I knew that having a child would change my life forever, but I had no idea what that really meant. Now I do.
I love you Claire, have a wonderful birthday, I’m so glad that you chose your mommy and me.
Claire’s been sick the last few days and has been having trouble sleeping. Yesterday she didn’t take her afternoon nap, so when I put her on my lap after feeding her, she pretty much immediately passed out. It was kind of funny watching her fall asleep, head bobbing as she fought it and the eventual submission to the Sandman. This is about the only time she’s still enough for Daddy to give her loving, so it was refreshing to rest her head against my chest and sing to her in her sleep.
God DAMN, I love this girl…
