Asha (pronounced "ah-sha") Jayaswal (forever forward referred to as "AJ") was born yesterday at 5:15 PM Pacific. Eight pounds, four ounces in weight, 19.5 inches tall and a 14-inch-around head for those keeping score at home.
Kishore didn’t have too long to talk, but according to our conversation, AJ is doing very well, latched to her mommy immediately and is, so far, a very calm and happy baby.
I’m really super-excited for Kishore and Amy, his wife, as they had some issues conceiving that I really don’t feel is my place to discuss. Suffice it to say that AJ is sort of a "miracle baby." Kishore has been one of my very best friends since we met 12 years ago and he and Amy are very much members of my family.
Congrats brother! I couldn’t be more happy if it was my own child. All my love to you and yours.

Today is my friend Tom’s birthday! Please join me in wishing him a happy and restful day as he spends time with his family and his beloved Sharks!

Yesterday was Lance and Tina’s seven-year anniversary. Congratulations you guys! I rarely take the time to say this, but Jen and I are very grateful to have you as friends. Actually, I’d go so far as to say that you are just as much family to us as our "real" families are.
Here’s hoping for many many more happy years for the two of you!

I got an email update from Mike this morning telling everyone that Amanda and Missy are doing fine and that Missy will be discharged from the hospital later today while Amanda stays for a few days longer in the hospital until she can gain some weight and is "doing a good job latching on to mom," according to Mike.
I’m glad to hear that as I was getting a bit worried about Missy and Amamda since I hadn’t heard from Mike for a few days.
Congratulations to Mike and Melissa Carroll on the birth of their first daughter, Amanda! Amanda was born this afternoon at 2:36 PM, weighs 4 lbs, 10 ozs (6 weeks premature) and is 18 inches tall.
Mommy and baby are doing well and will be spending a few days in the hospital while they make sure that Amanda is doing OK and Missy recovers from the c-section.
Congrats you two! Can’t wait to meet the newest addition to the Pioneer Baby Club!

Got this link from my buddy Q! over at Valve Software. There’s a software development kit that you can download from them that allows you to create your own levels and whatnot using the Steam Engine. The guy who did this one re-enacted one of my all-time favorite movie scenes using Half-Live 2 characters. It’s the crux of the movie A Few Good Men where Tom Cruise hounds Jack Nicholson into admitting that he ordered the beating of a soldier. You know the one, the whole "You can’t handle the truth" scene where Jack chews up the scenery?
anyway, this was expertly done by Randall Glass, whose site you can visit here.
Seriously, wow.

Hope you all had a great 4th weekend! I got to spent the weekend with friends and family. Can’t really ask for much more than that!
Saturday was Isabella’s third birthday (see previous entry) and Jen CJ and I got to visit with Tom and his wife Shelly and their son Lane this afternoon. After visiting with them we drove to Fremont to hang out with Jen’s family. Good times were had by all.

Happy Birthday Belle!
